<\/a><\/p>\nWhat a delightful basket weaving classroom! And ‘the store’ is in the same room.<\/p>\n
Shopping and weaving – can it get any better?<\/p>\n
I taught three classes – first up Farmer’s Market<\/a><\/p>\n A little bit of twill weaving and a fun wrap technique …<\/p>\n it’s a beautiful useful basket.<\/p>\n On Day Two, I taught on of my new baskets – the T Tray<\/a>. \u00a0First we wove a chevron base,<\/p>\n (yes Jane, you made it on to the Basket Teacher \ud83d\ude09 )<\/p>\n then started up the inside of the basket with some lattice work,<\/p>\n and finished off the outside of the basket with a continuous twill. Lots of work – but worth it!<\/p>\n I just added the pattern to my my pattern store – you can find it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dianne Stanton taught next to me – on day one, she taught her beautiful Choctaw Wall Basket.<\/p>\n Sandy Bulgrin and Ruth Garcia\u00a0 and Debbie Hurd were the other teachers at Weavin’ in Winona this year.<\/p>\n And these two? – best described as trouble \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n My last class of the event was paper<\/a> – the Painted Paper Trays<\/a><\/p>\n So many fun colors to play with!<\/p>\n We all enjoyed ourselves – and we have these people to thank: Deb – She has been organizing this event for 17 years! AND she started working on the 2018 event before the 2017 event was even over! Nicole runs the store – She always has a smile and is ready to lend a a hand.<\/p>\n Margaret started Weavin’ in Winona back in 1995, so glad she is still involved!<\/p>\n These four people worked hard before, during and after to make sure we all had a wonderful time – and we did! Thank you!<\/p>\n Put this event on your calendar – it takes place in Winona, Minnesota, every year on the weekend after Father’s Day. Next year will be Weavin’ in Winona’s 25th anniversary. You really will want to join us, Deb is already planning some pretty special activities, including a sunset cruise on the Mississippi! I have lots of projects to tackle and lots of ideas itching to be more than in my head!
