Today I am posting a tutorial on another way to double lash your basket. Last month, I posted ‘Lashing a\u00a0Basket with Waxed Linen<\/a>‘ and, in that post, I showed how to lash with waxed linen and how to do a V lash. This tutorial will show you how to lash a basket going around the basket once\u00a0and\u00a0creating a double lash with a double X on each lash. If you are new to lashing with waxed linen you may want to read\u00a0 ‘Lashing your Basket a\u00a0Waxed Linen<\/a>‘ to learn how to start the lasher, add on, and end the lasher.<\/p>\n

The Double X Lashing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting just to the right of the\u00a0overlaps (to the left, if you weave left handed), secure the\u00a0waxed linen\u00a0and thread\u00a0it\u00a0from outside to inside in the next space.
\n\"Double<\/a><\/p>\n

Now bring the lasher over the rim and back to the outside. Including the space the waxed linen just went through, count forward\u00a0two spaces,\u00a0thread the waxed linen from outside to inside in this space.<\/p>\n

\"Double<\/a><\/p>\n

Next, bring the lasher to the outside of the basket,\u00a0count one space back, and\u00a0thread the waxed linen from outside to inside in this space.<\/p>\n

\"Double<\/a>Now continue to lash repeating these two steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. bring the lasher\u00a0forward two spaces<\/li>\n
  2. bring the lasher back one space.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"Double<\/a>Repeat these steps and the lasher will create an X on the outside and an X on the inside of the rim, all while lashing around the basket once.<\/p>\n
